Bad cat?

Alright so my 92 Honda civc si hatchs exhaust started making this real bad noise, it's like a bad rattle from what it sounds like underneath the middle of my car and I noticed that my car has a real hard time acclerating. I know that since there is no back pressure then that's the reason my car is having a hard time acclerating , but my question is that can it be my cat and how do I know if my cat is bad? My car smells like something is burning.

take it off and look at it.
they sometimes get clogged.
also, if it is the original cat, it has been around much longer than honda intended.
also check for cracks in your exhaust manifold.

Either test pipe or high flow cat . I kno that I woudbt pass smog with a test pipe so I was thinkn of getn a high flow cat

Yea true. CA smog sucks!!!!
