so im about to buy a 92 civic hatch....it has a jdm zc block with a y8 head and its boosted.....the car runs great but once it heats up after you drive it for about 20 mins it smokes........the smoke is white and smells kinda sweetish...there is no play in the turbo so i dont think its that....i was either thinking head gasket or piston rings....there is no visible leaks on the block from the head so i didnt think its was a head gasket but i could be wronge.....give me your input...

mabybe its valve guide seals? how many miles are on the head?

Might want to read this thread if coolant is gone. Could be your head gasket.

ok so since then i took it out n beat on it a little bit....now the car idles fn reterded and when i give it gas it spits and sputters...i replaced the plugs and wires started it up and it did the same thing so i took out the third cylinder plug and it had gas all over it only the third had gas on it....but all the plugs are black....coolant is fine what should i do...the smoke stopped also but now i have a new problem

So it had a blown/leaking head gasket when you were going to buy it. But now it stopped smoking? Was the head gasket replaced?

take it to the tuner.
