d16z6 or y8 block with a z6 head

i have been watching some videos how these to setups worked bossted there not bad at all but which one is truely better for to boost?

its all on the tune and what internals you use and how much your looking to make but due to misterious oiling issues imma go with the z6 block and z6 head...

I would go with the z6 block & head. The y8 head on z6 block raises compression which may not be what you want for boosting. And the oiling issue is a downfall of the y8, but some are fine. I'd keep it all z6. When you build a frankenstein motor you have to think twice every time you buy something aftermarket.

i just got a y8 block so im gonna just put a y8 head on it n boost it im notgonna miss match like my friend is

dont use a y8 block. I made the mistake twice. Now I have a B series.

Yea dude sell that Y8 they are crap get a stock complete unmolested z6 and you'll be golden. I have had 3 friends with y8 and basic bolts throw rod bearings before 140k and my z6 went 200k with no probs and then it only blew a HG at 201k racing it. Some say its a myth but I honestly believe the y8 have oiLing issues, if they didn't there would be way more of them past 150k.

^x2 my friends just threw a rod and that confirmed why ppl say they are garbage for tuning up the head is straight tho .
