question.. ive been racking my brain trying to figure this one out.. my d16 has oil but when the car is running for a few the oil light inside will flicker on and off and the motor wont run correctly..itll stall out when u give it gas or when u throw it in reverse itll stall out and when i check the oil theres nothing on the stick...then ill let the motor cool down and check the oil again the oil is alittle bit above the 2nd mark on the dipstick.... any ideas what this could be?

its one of two things really....

oil psi sensor on the back of the block 1 wire near to teh oil filter

or two depending on how many miles you have it could very well be the oil pump....

this kinda happened to my b series swap it came from a car that was in the junkyard but had 68k on it however looked like it had been sitting for awhile so i grabbed it swapped it and turned out after 2 weeks of driving ti if i let it sit the oil light would flicker and sometimes id hear a noise from the d.side where the oil pump was turns out motor wasnt getting enough oil presure and from the dip you couldnt tell there where any signs of metal etc...but when you changed the oil it was like pouring open a jar of glitter.....so this is something serious i mean to me i think it could also be a clogged filter which could also not allow enough oil to flow free through the motor.....

make sure your oil is topped up

could also be worn out bottom end bearings!! had that happened to me!!

try it again.

if the light still flickers when hot at idle but goes away when you rev it up your bottom end may be done and your loosing oil pressure because of it
