I have a question. Is there a block off plate for the idle air control valve on a D16z6 intake or can I make one? Will i still have an erratic idle?

You probably have an erratic idle because the IACV is either dirty or not working. Clean that bitch out, if erratic idle persists it may be time to find another one.
Simple diagnostic test for after you clean the IACV.
Make sure the intake is off the TB then start the car. Once the car is running cover the TB opening with your hand, if the car dies (and you feel your hand being sucked into the TB a little bit) your IACV is still working and you've eliminated one erratic idle possibility. If the car keeps running like nothing is going on, then your IACV is hosed.

its just that the car feels faster with it unhooked. the iacv works fine.
