ok well i am new to this sight. i have a question for ya i just got my 5th civic 10th honda. i just changed the motor and it ran before it just spun a rod bearing before i got it so went from d15b2 w/y8 head to just a d15b7 and now its not getting spark or fuel and ive checked the wiring like 10 times. wen i first tryed to start it it was getting fuel and i know theres gas in it and now nothing. and with the spark i was think it was the dizzy it has a z6 dizzy in it cause i plan on switching the heads shortly just want it running now. so if anyone has any ideas it would be great and thanks in advance

you cant run a vtec dizzy on a non vtec motor.
it will only bolt up to one bolt, meaning that you probably have it off timing by who knows how much.

i say find a d15b7 dizzy(nonvtec) and see if that was the problem.
and what harness are you using?

since you said you had a y8 head on there im guessing you had an obd2 (96-2000) civic harness which is completely different from the obd1 and this will also make the car not run.
check that out and let me know what you have come up with.

the dizzy is wat i thought and its a obd1 harness. and the dizzy didnt fit on the y8 either haha but it ran and im trying to get the car running for as cheap as i can cause no job makes it difficult and ill try a dizzy and see if that helps

thanks for moving this i didnt know were i should put it. so i figured out wat was wrong my ecu was fried

that sucks... I hear of that happening every now and then though.

yea it was pretty lame after messing with the car for like 4hrs i finally figured that out.......already found a replacment though

ok car still will not car i have a check engine light for tdc and yea im so confused and my o2 sensor witch i knew and vtec witch i also knew but if anyone ideas that would sur be helpful

the tdc code is the distributor.
i have that one. the car still runs but sometime when i go to start it, it will take longer to start since the computer wont know when to send spark and or fuel at the right time.

thats wat mine does but it wont start or evn try to at all thats wat im confused about sorry i guess i should of gave more details about it. it will just turn over but it turns over really fast and the compresions good,timings good,i have a temp p28 until my buddy finds the right computer cause i traded a y7 head with 53,000 mile on it for that and a few other things so i know thats good. and i have the weirdest car ever it has like two wiring harness but only for the dizzy and i dont understand it but ive tryed both and neither of them work or take the code away its random. the car is starting to piss me off and i am about to sell the car and get something else but then i would feel like my car concerd me and that but if anyone has any idea about wat it could be.ill try alomst anything to get it running again and thanks jdm at least i know im not the only one

has 2 wiring harnesses? strange...

so you are using a D15b7 dizzy right?

ANd your ignition timing AND mechanical timing are both perfect? its worth double checking them.... as well as plug wires are in the correct firing order.

yup im using the b7 dizzy and i just checked that today and it was fine and it has 2 extra plugs and one 3 wire and one that has the same exact plug as the big one on the dizzy
