#214484 Hi people, I remember reading up one of suspendedHatch's posts regarding the way his engine worked and I wondered if te same applied with my engine.

What I remember reading up on was he stated that if you were to stay in gear but had your foot off the gas and let the inertia of the engine slow you down, rather than shifting to neutral, the engine uses no fuel at all.

Does this apply to my engine?

Thanks,
Paul

#214493 The engine will use a small amount of fuel anytime its running, wether in gear or not.

#214508 No the motor does not use any fuel when you are in gear decelerating. Most modern cars use no fuel when engine braking.

#214648 Hmm I see. Thad fair enough, I could of sworn I've read something from suspendedHatch which was familiar to what I've posted above. Heh, guess I was wrong. Thanks :).

#214655 You can read through his build thread to learn more about what he did, or even PM him. He does get on from time to time.
