Hey everybody, I'm going to be working on my civic next week to try to get this whole no start problem sorted. I know the gammy IAT wont cause a no start/spark but I want to get the ECL sorted just to rule it out for definite.

My question is, whats the best way to clean an IAT? mine is on the back of the IM (D15B7), the screws holding it in look as if they cant be loosened? It looks like the screws have no indent for a screwdriver? they look more like rivets... maybe they're full of crap but is that normal? Once its off how best to clean it, or shall I just buy another one?

throttle body cleaner or carb cleaner and a rag will do the trick
i have never heard of one going bad nevermind cause the car not to start but whatever makes you sleep tight at night
if it looks like rivets you can cut a notch and then use a screw driver

Part of me thinks maybe when I disconnected and reconnected the harness maybe theres now a bad connection... I might play with the plugs at the strut tower, see if that does anything :?

The IAT will not cause a no-start condition.

The screws should have phillips grooves in them. Are you looking at the TPS?

Regardless if there's grooves or not, they will strip out if you don't first break them loose with some vice grips.

a few people have said that... I read somewhere that some honda engines when showing a ecl code wont spark. Just made me paranoid ever since, but it didnt say what engines or what codes either :?

Ill take your word for it buddy :thumb:
