if you put a d17 crank, piston and rod assembly in a d16z6 you basically stoke it out to 1.7liters. I know there has been talk of the site about it. Use the Search function under the Forum pulldown, Search for "d17" and see what it shows. :thumb:

if you find one in a junkyard its a cool snatch. Looks like it uses 137mm rods like the D16's do, so as long as you use the d17 crank and pistons you should be able to use forged D16 rods if you plan on making over 250hp.

ya well if i did it i would sleeve and bore to 78mm wich im pretty sure would make it 1.8 with the stroker. i already have a full d17a2 block and yes the rods are the same as the 1.6. you have to do some notching to the block and the crank girdel, you also have to do some machining to the pulley end of the crank to use the z6 crank pulley so it will line up with the alt but other than that i dont really think theres to much to it. i seen some really good info and a couple build threads but ill keep looking
