Civic EG

I need some help please - My 92 1.5 has started idling at about 3500rpm when hot and I was told to replace the Wax Pot (apparently a common problem). Fitted it yesterday and problem still exists, everything lined up ok when I fitted it but now the plastic gear pointer doesnt line up with the mark on the toothed plate.

Any idea how I adjust it? There was an instruction sheet with the new part but it was in Japenese!
