D15, D16, D17 and Mini-Me swaps

#221520 Here is the info:
93 cx hatch (economy model)
d16z6 swap
auto p28 converted manual
wired up 4wire o2 sensor
wired up vtec

car starts up, shows no codes what so ever, but will not idle at all worth a shit. Major misfire. Here is what I have done since problem:
checked timing 5 times with 5 different mechanics (family is full of them)
checked plug gaps and plugs
changed dizzy cap and cleaned rotor
changed MAP sensor
checked TPS voltages
changed injectors
changed FPR
checked gaps on plugs ( all .040)
plugged broken evap solenoid on intake (goes to charcoal can)
checked wires for crossover (MAP and TPS)
charged battery (since swap, battery dies immediately for some reason now)
fixed exhaust leak (downpipe has cat on it and was broken in half. welded)

Im on my last nerve with this car. I dont want to sell it but I need a car to drive to work and college or I am screwed. May change plug wires tomorrow and see if that changes anything. Could really use any and all help. I am running out of money to blow on this car. If you need anymore info just ask.

#221594 I'd guess that this is your problem "auto p28 converted manual". Try to find someone with the right ECU and plug it in and see what happens.

#221596 Well, it did what it was supposed to. I have a friend running an auto done the same way and his runs fine so I have no clue. Planning on testing a virgin manual p28 if i keep having problems

#221607 The d16z6 is a swap. It ran fine when I had the d15b8 in. And I believe I have the plug wires in the correct order. I will check again tonight.

#221783 Make sure your injectors aint cracked.
If one of them is. Then change it for a good one and take your ECU fuse off for a minute or so. Then check it out again :thumb:

#221824 I changed injectors out and it didnt change anything but i will look at them more closely. Have a family friend coming tomorrow to look at it who is a honda specialist so hopefully it will be done tomorrow and I can get it on the road.

you mentioned you changed the injectors. did you put the ones from your d15b8 in there? they will be the same injector. bad injectors can cause all sorts of issues.

I would try your friends ecu that works just fine and see if your problems clear up. if not my next bet would be swapping the z6 injectors out for the ones on your d15b8. They dont have to be cracked to be bad btw, my bad ones looked just like the good ones except my car ran look poop, and one didn't run at all.

#221867 After you swith the injectors.
Reset the ecu, take the fuse out :thumb:

It happened to a friend, he switched injectors but didin't take the fuse out and he was freaking out. Until I took it out and worked charm afterwards.

#221870 Does removing the ground from the battery do the same thing?

#222016 injectors seem ok. is there a way to test them without going to a injector specialist? Also, I think I am going to redo the timing today since the honda Tech hasnt been able to come til tonight. Hoping this fixes it. If not, I am gonna try new plug wires (one of the plug wires came apart apparently when my dad checked the spark plugs)

#222048 Got a update. Checked plugs and plug wires. Firing good. Cylinder 3 is cold though. Sprayed water on all 4 exhaust runners and all but 3 evaporated immediately after letting it warm up. Maybe bad injector again on cylinder 3? Checked pulse on it with a led and it seemed good.
