D15, D16, D17 and Mini-Me swaps

#224749 Its time for me to start pieceing together my mini swap and i plan on getting a bisimoto lvl 1 or 2 cam depending on smog, and a greddy header wit a greddy evo2 catback and a aem CAI and the head already has a aem adjustable cam gear

now i cant chose bewteen the skunk2 pro serise or the edlebrock performer x intake manifold, i just wanna know peoples input on which one they would chose,

the motor is gonna be a b7 block and a z6 head and its gonna be N/A

so lets here wat you guys have to say

#224756 check out my dyno sheet on my build thread. that is with the skunk2 manifol and bolt ons. no cam, none of that. no head work.. and that power was made around 5600 rpm. so mid to high.

dont know about the victor X for the d series. the performer X is said to make a lil more power sooner then skunk 2. idk yet.

Yea i was looking into the performer for my set up but it wasnt available it was on back order and the skunk2 was in stock so i got that one. the Performer X costs less too and is said to do good numbers too.

#224773 are you going to do anything wild like a cam ported head or bigger short block (Z6 y8 or stroked etc..) or anything of that sort of nature?

if so i would do the Victor X manifold

if not the skunk 2 manifold will do just fine.

the victor X might be too big for what you are wanting to do.

if turbo'd it would be fine.

im gonna get a lvl 1 or 2 bisimoto cam and prob get the head pnp
but ima gonna leave all the block work for later, but for now im just lookin for prob 140-150 wheel hp off a mini me.. eg6b20r made 128whp of bolt ons nd no cam nd the bisi lvl 1 cam is a 10% increase, ill be happy to take b serise but also keep the single slamer wit just bolt ons n a lil cam

#224878 I say get a hondata to get the most out of what do to the monitor and be able to monitor it. I mean u can get ur p28 chipped but once u get it that's it can't modify it or anything. And usually whenu get chipped u tell them ur mods n they will do fheir best to have it run best. So if u lean out or run rich u urself can't do anything.its best to get a fully modified ecu. Where u can add ir remove fuel. Mess with iginitionfor more torque.. I recommend always when building or slightt building. Like ur wanting to add a cam. Nowadays run a fully reprogrammable ecu. Again its the only best way to ger the power u want. Chipped ecu wont cut it. Wen I installed my skunk2 I have a crazy idle surge. That was due to my fast idle thermal valve which was new messed up some how. Iits attachedto the bottom of the throttle body sice it was useless I plugged the hole and adjust idle a vit with the hondata. Also I needed a new tps and caljbrating it properly with the hondata was so easy. Didn't need a voltmeter at all. Caljbraring theps correctly is very crutial in how the car runs.
Just save a lil and gst hondata,or neptune rpt. Not everyone can afford aem ems... any oother questions just ask. That's what we are here for.

nd the mini me is gonna be around 10.2:1 cr is that good, i read along time ago that using the pm7 pistons will increase cr

wit the pm7's it goes to 10.5:1, is that .3 increase in the cr really worth it?

cuz i wanna build this motor and have power wit decent gas mileage and still pass my biyearly smogs

#224934 Ok so u want hondata s300. Requires at best a obd1 virgin p28. And compression of 10.3:1 should get decent gas mileage just need to tune it with the best grade gas out ur way. Stock cr on a full z6 is 9.2 or 3:1. So you'll def have a jump in power.. :thumb:

ok im getting the p28 with the mini me swap im buying
and i read its 500 for the s300?

now id have to get that dyno tuned huh?

once your motor is all set and ready to go take it to the tuner you will be using and with the hondata they should DYNO tune your set up. you dont get the hondata itself tuned.. lol.. for the set up you have. it usually takes a lil over an hour to tune it good. and your lokoing at 100-200/hr for tuning.. since it's an all motor set up. yuo'll just be tuning, air,fuel, spark and timing..

is there anythin to use thats cheaper to tune the car?
