So on a recent trip to pick a part I found a d15z1 sohc vtec off a vx they're asking $550 for the complete motor and tranny(dizzy and vtec solonoid got snatched ) and also 30 day warranty on both tranny and motor (credit only no cashback) looks like some water got in the head (Friday nights rain).

What u guys think?

How much more power does it have than my stock d15b7 auto?

Thanx any and all input will be appreciated...DJ :thumb:

if you're looking to build a MPG beast then this is a good setup. Not so good for HP modifications though. You'll be just as well swapping a Z6 or Y8 head on your b7 block. The D15z1 uses a wideband o2 and is vtec-e for fuel economy. The ecu reads the wideband o2 to operate lean burn mode for better MPG. The transmission is also the longest geared of all D series trannys (same as CX I believe) so acceleration will not be good.
