Civic EG

This is weird.When the is parked,it heats up 2 normal temp then the fan switches on,then off again like normal.
But when i drive it heats up,not till the red line but a distance under it and when i get to a red robot and stand still it starts cooling down again.
and yes the fan is constantly on trying to cool the motor down.
What can cause this?

do you have enough coolent?

so when u drive it gets hot then when u stop at a red 'robot' im gonna guess u mean a red traffic light?? it cools down

there is a 1 wire sensor under the dizzy maybe that is loose and when ur driving the incoming air could be pushin the wire and givin u a false reading.. never know id check it

but it a yellowish one, its the only 1 wire sensor on the head under the dizzy

What kind of problems wud the water pump give if it was that?

Ok check all your coolant hoses for any bad hoses or leaks. Also check your water pump, and also you wanna check your thermostat. You could have bad wiring or even just a bad cluster. I had a similar problem myself a few
Months back with my hatch over heating and the temp guage goin up and down

well if u not leaking or anything i jus changed my radiator cuz it was kinda old an my problem was fixed similar to yours

could it be that the rad can be blocked?
