Alrite so I had my d16z6 rebuilt so it has 0 miles and I've been breaking it in as of lately. My motor feels kinda slow, but I'm not sure if it feels that way because I'm still breaking it in or because before I rebuilt the motor my cat had been rattling and I took it to the muffler shop and they told me my cat was bad or going bad. I still haven't changed my cat and it doesn't smell and doesnt it rattle anymore. So my question is can my z6 be feeling a lil slow because I haven't broken it in or can it be the cat? I found a cat for $40 so Imma try and see if it makes a difference

Theres different variables that could make it run slow or its just your feeling that it is slow and the car is actually running like it should. who rebuilt the motor? proper break in performed? what was all replaced on the motor? timing might be off? etc....

rebuilt motors will feel more powerful as they are broken in. To check for a clogged cat, take it off and look through it at the sun like a telescope. You should be able to see a little bit of light through all of the metal screens.
I'd check to be sure the shop wasn't just trying to sell you a cat.

that test isnt always true
my cat was like that where you
can see through, it looks perfect
but it was bad, if u have smog laws you
are better off replaceing the cat, if not just get a test pipe

get a new cat for smog. take out that new cat and put in the old one. when its time to smog again, put in the new one.
