started with a knock, then lost oil pressure, then BOOM!

That looks bad... I think a rebuild is out of the question, if you take a look at what's damaged...

Could be the result of poor tuning/set-up?

from the looks of it id have to say it looks like the valves stuck or bent...on my drag car we had similar results when the valves stuck closed...and there goes 10 grand all over the track heres a few pics of the number 4 cylinder (this is when we ran alcohol..)

the sad thing is, is that was our best pass too

forgot to add it broke the bellhousing on the tanny and split the flywheel in half
