D15, D16, D17 and Mini-Me swaps

#236226 Hey folks,

I've got the Z6 out and I'm replacing it with a new D16A. I just thought while I have it out I should upgrade the clutch as my OEM clutch has been slipping when in boost. I'm just wondering who has experience with aftermarket clutches and what is a good bang for my buck. I'm not concerned about specific clutches, or whether or not they're from ebay, moreso brand names and if they're worth the money.

My setup:
JDM D16A boosted to 8 psi, USDM D16Z6 tranny

Any input is appreciated.

#236635 Yeah, the stop and go traffic won't bother me much, my concern is moreso slippage when shifting in boost.

#236659 I had one of those stage 3 XTD kits I tore it to peices on a d15b7/z6 mini me after a year of driving. Slipped like a motherfucker once I boosted the engine. But I've heard that some people push 300+ whp with them and don't have problems. I think they're a hit or miss kind of thing. If you want to take that kind of gamble that's fine, but I don't recommend it, unless you don't mind the idea of possibly replacing the clutch fairly quickly. I have since switched to a comp stage 4 clutch and couldn't be happier. I love having more pedal feel. The XTD kit felt as soft or softer than stock, it gripped fine ... for a while, but I hated the way it felt. The comp clutch has a heavier pressure plate which I very much prefer.
