#236612 im assuming its a narrowband gauge? If so, i believe you have to tape the white wire from the o2 sensor... im assuming its a 4-wire sensor... which if i remember correctly is a heated sensor (2 black wires) then has two other wires feed and output... which you must tap the output.... at least thats what i did with my old hatch and seemed to work correctly... but i would double check wire colors, and im sure you could tap the wire in the interior harness going to the ecu to get the same reading

#237090 Do you have a CA VX or federal. Is it stock?

Which A/F gauge are you installing?

#237111 VX's have the 5 wire o2 sensor, so it would only make sense to go with a wide band o2 gauge. A narrowband gauge is pretty much only going to tell you if you're running absolutely rich or lean,

#237244 Not all VX's are 5 wire. That's why I asked him if his car is CA or Fed. Read the label under your hood that says something to the effect of "this car complies with (CA or fed) smog regulations for the year...).

93+ CA cars are 4 wire. All fed cars are "5 wire" wideband. The ECU has 5 wires but the actual sensor itself has 7 or 8.

His air / fuel gauge may or may not be compatible. Wideband O2 sensors require a controller. The VX has it built into the ECU and it's not compatible with anything. Some gauges are sold with a controller and some of the AEM gauges have the controller built into the gauge.
