Hello guys i was wondering what could i do to upgrade a little my recently bought Civic eg hatchback with a d15b2 engine....i literally studied the topics about the upgrades etc about swaps from the mini me swaps thread already but to be honest i dont think i have the knowledge, the place, the tools and many more to perform such an upgrade...Also i dont understand the term mini me(its called the head swap?)Anyway im just 20years old,i worked my ass off to buy my dReAm CaR so im so willing to learn how to take GOOD care of it and upgrade it.So is my engine a good one to start spending money for upgrades or should i just w8 for another civic model? :? Thanks in advance!

PS i  my EG

well at least here in the states the eg's didnt come with the d15b2 so im guessing you got a base model around 1991 or something such as that?? as the d15b2 came with a dual point injection and obd0 setup(im sure all this really isnt making much sense ) but hopefully this will if you love your car and are willing to work on it and learn i think you will enjoy it more then just waiting and getting another car because to truely appreciate a honda you must in my mind work on it and hone your skills......

that being said the d15b2 is just the older brother of the d15b7 without doing the vtec head swap(mini me) your best bet would be to upgrade to obd1 (change the wiring and stuff) or stick with obd-0 and grab a tube multiport fuel injection intake and do a swap much like this
http://fourthgenhatch.net/mpfi.html

now thats on an earlier model civic but same information

Also if you are lucky enough to find a d16a6 cam for relatively cheap that is a more aggressive cam then that of the d16b2 you would need a different timing belt and cam gear to get it timed right but its a relatively simple swap and would be a bit of fun

but intake swap wise would give you the best bang for your buck in my eyes if what you have is what im thinking of....

if your mechanically unable to do things really the only way i feel that might help is to slowly go at it getting comfortable and then in the same instance uncomfortable because just like welding you can be shown all you want but until you try try and try again you wont get good at it....

THIS^^^ now stop being a weenie and start with an intake arm and filter :thumb:

Well its a 1995 model and i live in Greece so i didnt know if it was releashed anywhere else with such an engine type...Anyway ive read some topics on this site about obd0-1 upgrades, the wiring dpi to mpi if i remember correctly etc...Anyway to tell u the truth im afraid of attempting such an attempt on my VERY FIRST honda that i actually slept in it the first day i bought it... <3 Well thanks about the advices i got your point about the d16a6 or some other heads to swamp i got some friends that do business with such upgrades (and to inform u these swamps are illegal in Greece). Can u tell me what my ride will gain with those minor upgrades (dpfi to mpfi and obd0 to obd1)?

first, you don't need obd1 if you're not doing mini-me.
d15b2 is basicly same as d15b7, except intake and different obd.
my sugestion is:
mpfi swap, d16a6 camshaft (or some aftermarket camshaft), adjustable cam gear, thinner head gasket and little porting. cai or sri and free flow exhaust.
