hey guys, was wondering, have to do the timing belt, tensioner and waterpump on my d15b7. im supposed to have some money in a few weeks so was wondering ifanyone had an estimate on what it would take to slap a z6 head on and how much it cost on average if i used basic replacement parts to keep the cost lower. i also dont know if id have to by an ecu for it since i have the p06. theres some people up here with z6 heads going for about 150 to 250 didnt know if thats bad or good. oh and the current motor has 183k on it. checking compression once i get vc back on after valve adjustment.

There's a mini-me how-to thread in the DIY list, except that one is a y8 head and intake manifold, so just replace everything that says y8 with z6. One exception though, your d15b7 distributor will not fit the d16z6 head, so you'll need to buy a d16z6 distributor. And you'll need a P28 ecu.

I'm not sure about the head bolts on the z6 head with d15b7 block. But everything else should be the same. one easier thing is that you don't need to drill a hole for the AIT sensor

if you have everything, it's not much more time consuming than changing a head gasket

Keep us updated.
I wouldn't mind finding out roughly how much this would cost either.
I had a guy late last summer offer me a z6 head for $50, I wonder if he still has it.
