Are u taking aBout the wicked chatter or the reving

Reving = clean your fitv

Chatter = could be loose valves

I knew about the fitv but the valves are fine. I just took the head off yesterday and all it really needs is a cleaning. No bent or dropped valves.

did you check your coolant level? crazy I know but mine and a buddies v6 accord reved like that. And both took coolant to restore erratic rev. this is after throttle and all kinds of other sensor cleanings that didnt help.

The coolant level was full before I drained it to take the head off.

sounds like car is not getting enough juice. if you have a system or wired something up recently see if there is a loose ground.

I haven't wired anything up but put a new battery on. It's been sitting for a while and I just started it up after a year or so and it sounded like that.

You haven't started it in a year? That's probably the problem.

well, i thought so too but now i am thinking that it's jumped timing maybe 1 or 2 teeth. plus, when i looked at the pistons, there were a few little nicks on the heads that looks like the heads have been hitting the valves. I am pretty sure I have figured it out as far as that. Plus, you can tell on the valves where there are nicks of carbon flaked off.

If the pistons were hitting the valves then it would have most probably bent them.

I don't think the pistons were hitting now. I wiped off the heads of the pistons and it was just carbon. No nicks. So that's a relief. I took the head apart and am now cleaning it and the valves and will put it back on tomorrow. When I reset the timng, all should be well. :)

Oh, and I think it wasn't firing right so I'll do a tune up and check it.

So, I put it all back together and now I just need to do the timing. Come to find out that the crank had a little chunk taken out where the key was and the balancer was tore up. Since it's the d15, I just set the new harmonic balancer to the red mark lined up with the arrow and have "up" on the camshaft pulley up and the tdc lines even with the cylinder head right?
