Hey guys so i got a buddy saying hes gonna wire his vtec to his high beam ?
Is this even possible if so how does it work and why would you even do that in the first place ?

its possible but retarded its just a 12v switch to engage the vtec solinoid idk why he would want to do that

yeah let the ecu do the switching. no human can do it as well as the factory computer. :thumb:

Is he doing this so the high beams turn on when vtec kicks in or is he wiring it so vtec kicks in when he flips on his high beams?
If it's the later of the two I'd have to give it a :thumbdown:, I'm pretty sure the engineers at Honda knew what they were doing when they programmed the ECU to make vtec kick in when it does. :) I can only see this as doing more harm than good.

honda has a reason why vtec kicks when it kicks

when the power band starts to fall on the stock cam lobes
vtec engages and moves to the vtec cam lobes and cont. the power band

now swtiching it is stuipd and gonna hurt ur power
id only recommeing switching it when u put a diff cam and
then you wanna dyno tune so u can see when u should engage vtec

not putting it on ur headlights so u can "crack" vtec when u take off from a red light to beat the gramma in the minivan next to you

if your friend does this
he is full of fail :thumbdown:
