So i want to do a y8 swap but i keep reading that iwould have to use a higher octane fuel , i live on long island (NY) and gas prices out here are crazyy so i was wondering does it really matter if i use regular gas? Would this cause any problems

I'm pretty sure.they recommend high test in all vtec engines

Your compression will be around 10.5:1 I believe which WILL require higher octane fuel. I'd suggest 91 octane at the minimum.
