What would be better a whole D16Z6 swap or a Mini Me swap?

- Fri Jun 10, 2011 4:45 am #258923 I ask because I find a whole lot of different opinions. Like Mini me head swap from a D16Z6 head on a D15B8 block with A6 pistons will give me higher compression.... Then I hear a stock D16Z6 is not much different than a Mini me swap.....

Even tho it only took me one day to remove n install new head. I believe its less hassle to do full swap.

- Fri Jun 10, 2011 2:01 pm #258969 Full d16z6 for sure. You'll have a stronger bottom end and compression ratio will be the factory 9.5:1 which is more boost friendly if you decide to go that route.


Also, it's just as easy IMO to drop the motor through the bottom than to pull it out through the top, if you don't have a hoist. :wink: THere's a DIY on how do drop it, check the DIY list.
