#261525 im sure its been answered before so take it easy on me. I have done research, but most of the stuff i want to click on is from turbod16.com and the site is not working for some reason. my goal 300whp with all supporting mods. s300, pistons/rods, injectors...list goes on. But the one thing im not sure on is the need for a block guard or sleeves.

I know tuning plays a huge part and i do plan on having a great tune.

So any advice you may have will be sweet. Thanks

#261526 some argue that block guards only reinforce that small section of the sleeve and can then lead to warping of the uninforced at high temps. sleeves for me :thumb: you get what you pay for

#261537 As-is with a good tune you will be okay without sleeves. But as mentioned, if you plan on more power in the future then you might as well do sleeves now.

Block guard will reinforce the top of the cylinders but at the same time retain heat near the head so there's the good and the bad. I've never personally used one but I'm not at 300+ whp either.

#261540 My friend had a block guard on his fully built NA and it didnt take long for the cylinder wall to crack. So sleeves IMO. They cost a hell of a lot more but better safe than sorry

#261547 Thanks for all the input. I better do sleeves then. Considering power is an addiction, i better do sleeves now instead buying a new block :eh:
