the y8 Intake manifold does have bigger runners i do believe, if you look under the diy section under the mini me swap i think it is teal_dx shows info about the y8, i think 96-97 is the one that wouldnt need any modification because i think 98 and up had a cold start sensor on it , but u might be able to just cap it somehow.

The y8 manifold has a larger plenum for quicker throttle response and somewhat beter midrange-topend power. The y8 manifold is also better for boost.

So yes, it is a good upgrade.

99-00 y8 have cold start assist and will need to have 4 little holes filled in. 96-98 is ready to bolt on. Be sure it is from a manual car, not auto. (auto's had the iacv built into the throttle body instead of on the back of the manifold)

i stopped in the store after i saw your post about it being in import tuner. I have to say that i am not impressed with those dyno numbers, they would be even worse without the tb they added. and if they are running hondata i believe it was, then they tuned it obviously. So I wonder what real world stock ecu, y8 intake mod would add to z6? not much. now if it were boosted, that would be a diff story. :thumb:

to me, not enough to make it worth it. but as you said and the article said, it paves the road smoother for forced induction :thumb:

one thing everyone mention.. is the hondata s300 for that mag build
i saw it too...

u can slap parts on ur car all day... but without the proper tune u will not see much of an increase..

but the y8 manifold is like the type-r to the d serise
there a good stock upgrade... :thumb:

and most dont realize the time and money it takes to properly build a car. Or even DRIVE it for that matter  Yes Honda's are cheap, and somewhat easier to build than other manufacturers but common sense can go a long way. Most would rather listen to their buddy than someone who has been in this game for many years.
