Hey guys,

I was driving today in rush hour traffic for an hour and a half. My car did not overheat or have any problems, this was mid day mind you lol.

Tonight, I took her for a short drive and parked in a parking lot to talk on the phone. After about 10 minutes I looked down and saw my temp guage was 3/4 of the way to the top when normally it is about 1/4 of the way to the top. I shut the car off, let it cool down, and started it up again. After 10 minutes it did it again. I drove home from the parking lot, and while I was driving it cooled down. I started it again in front of my house after it got cooled off, and it does not get hot anymore from what I can tell. Any ideas on whether it is a thermostat or not? Something worse? I got work tomorrow fellas lol help me out :? :?

I'd start by checking for traces of oil in your coolant and seeing if the coolant is low in the radiator. If it's only low, try bleeding the system and topping off the radiator. Might want to carry some with you to be safe. Then head to the dealer and pick up a thermostat. If yours has been in for a while, you might as well change it and see what happens from there.

I did get paranoid one day after reading about all the headgasket issues and checked my coolant. It looked good, but I'll double check. Also, my fan never seems to come on. I never thought it was a problem since i never got a high reading from my temp guage lol could that be it? something simple?

I'd say fan circuit if it cools down when you drive, and heats when parked. Your forcing the air through the radiator to cool down. follow the wires from your fan and use a paper clip to close the circuit if it comes on, check the CTS (rare) and then move to the t stat, or air in the system. If it doesn't come on, cop a new fan.
