you have to use an air gun or air ratchet...i think it was a 19mm but not real sure...you dont have to use a screw driver to keep it from moving either

that is going to be a bitch with out air tools because you have to spin the nut fast enough that the crank doesn't turn

Even with air tools i couldn't get mine to come off. So i took a few of the flywheel bolt and put them in the crank so that they would hold a long breaker bar, that way when the motor turns over it will be stopped by the breaker bar, then using another breaker bar with a long piece of pipe slid over it for more leverage, i cranked on it a little and it came right off no problem. hopefully this helps, maybe it will maybe not. i also had engine on an engine stand, but i did one like this with it sitting on the ground as well. good luck

like where you would normally bolt your flywheel too. thats the and of the crank-shaft. just put the bolts in but not the fly-wheel

if motor is in the car, couldn't you put it in 1st gear and have someone hold the brakes while you use a long breaker bar?

yeah true that. maybe the tool would be a better choice. i was just too lazy to go buy it or order one and sit around and wait for it. is your motor still in the car?
