it seems like when im going 60 in 4th and drop it in to 3rd and floor it theres a lag in response. and its just me in the car no extra weight. Once i floor it theres like a 4 second lag till it picks up.

Does this matter or am i over reacting. I bought the car off a friend and have had problems with it from the start so im just trying to be sure.

sounds to me like you are flooring an automatic and the "lag" is the tranny downshifting.

I thought Auto only Show a "3" then goes to "D"..


Anyways JDMdx 93, do you have any check engine lights currently.. If you do you might want to check those.. Also generally when having some type of Lag or Hesitation as it's commmonly knownw, it can be numerous things. Usually the Throttle postion sensor (TPS). Could be a MAP sensor. Could be your fuel injectors.. Having a 4 second lag seems to me to be a bit extreme.. Like you literally count to 4 and that's when it will pick up..

Need more info on your car to better help your situation like What Engine do you have ?
