where can i buy d16y8 rods

i bought a bare block for my cousin when his 96 civic ex motor blew. we were thinking of overhauling all parts into the used block but his rods where burnt and one was gone shreaded btw pistons r still good.
where is a good place to get rods? or can i use z6 rods?
he let me keep his complete head with everything and im just trying to do a a mini me at the moment until im able to piece together the d16y8....
i just really want to rebuild a motor for my own pleasure and to gain more experience with the motors.
or let me know what u guys would do with it.

You can use the z6 rods. They are both 137mm in length.

i would go with forged cuzz you could boost if you wanted to if you went with forged pistons too

look into getting a set of the FJ rods and vitara pistons for the car.

what about crank? is it the same from the z6? because the crank is fried from the piston where is was riding. ill try and post pics of the damage lol

yes, both are 90mm stroke.

another y8 with a spun bearing, why am i so not surprised?
you will want another crank and 4 new rods.
just curious, how many thousand miles was it driven with the rod knocking loud enough to wake the dead?

the cluster said 200,xxx but its his fault cu never checked the oil and never took the time to take czre of shit. mest up part is he lend to a friend to go up some national park and said motor had lost power got the car home and then my cousin drove it again and he said he heard a poping sound (rod) lol. end of story.
