So I was just wondering if i can still do a Y8 swap on my D15Z1 with the same results as a D15B7???

Yes you can.
Get a P28, convert to a 4 wire o2 sensor and the P28 will also not need an EGR valve so you can then upgrade to the better flowing y8 intake manifold - and get a d16 or d15b7 throttle body too.

how about a y7... i know its not ideal but just going over what i can find. its only going to be a temporay build so i can get the car on the road

unless you swap the Z1 rods/pistons out for the B7 ones, you will have super low compression. 7.4:1.

so in all reality im better off getting my hands on a D15b7 rather than the D15z1? And if i were to do the y8 swap i take it i still wouldnt get the same cr as a b7/y8 swap yes?
