#278858 i would go with the standard intake/headers/exhaust.
if you want to be more price efficient, consider upgrading your intake manifold and the throttle body as those upgrades can be carried over into your turbo build. also might want to consider your cyl. head done, but thats more cost added.

#278872 I wouldn't even bother with N/A mods if you have your mind on going turbo eventually. Save up for longer and go turbo the first time. D-series motors love boost... You can drop $500+ into a N/A D16 and wonder where your HP is, not the best HP per dollar. Plus the things you'll buy (cold air intake, header, exhaust) will be no use on a turbo setup - well maybe exhaust if you go 2.5" with a straight through muffler.

he can still get a bigger TB and intake manifold cause those can be beneficial for the turbo setup.

#279575 if you want to go turbo do it right and build the motor
bolt ons wont help if your motor cant handle boost
i say rebuild the motor with some good rods and low compression pistons
after the rebuild break it in right i.e. dont run boost for 500 miles then give it boost and if all goes well then get a better intake mani etc. etc.
