vtec?

sooo.. maybe this is a super newb question but ummm I don't know if my vtec is kicking in on my d16z6, how can i tell? I cant really hear a difference. also I was told it should kick out a cloud of black smoke(idk if thats true but i didn't see any black smoke)..

Lol... on a d16z6 you really dont have that vtec "Kick" since the vtec is minor on a stock D. you'll just feel the car accelerate a little more faster after 5800 RPMS...

if you look at my thread, you can see the dyno of my d16z6.

It should be seamless. You'll hear it better if you have an intake, especially a short ram. It is only the cam lobes for the intake that switch over on SOHC motors, not the exhaust cam lobes like on DOHC motors, so vtec will never be as loud on a SOHC.

OK thanks, I do have a shortram injen intake. And teal what do you mean by seamless. It should be obvious? or real smooth?

Lol I can only feel mine in the first couple gears then the rest I can't really tell.

Why not hook up a vtec light and I use 2 here and feel my vtec kick in my old. Y8 then agen it was a y8 lol
