hey guys, i fixed my timing issue and new intake mani, iacv cleaned with new screen and o ring. new valve seals and tube seals, i was wondering if i should do another valve adjustment since i fixed the timing belt issue and if tht would help with the loss of power and burning oil under strain??? only thing i can think of is that or piston rings and if its piston rings im selling my coupe bc i dont have the time to fix tht right now.

I had the same problem with a D15B7 of mine, I lost compression in one cylinder and burnt ALOT of oil. that was piston rings

well its so bad that it even burns about a quart of 10w30 within about 75 miles or so. and only see smoke when i take off, give it some gas to pass someone, or if it strains like uphill etc. ive even tried 10w40 and a quart still only lasts about 100 miles if im lucky. i just did valve seals and fixed my timing belt . should i redo the valve lash and set intake to 6thou and exhaust to 8 thou?

Uh oh, I had the exact same symptoms on my D15b. Especially when I took off from a red light. A huge cloud of smoke. Turned out to be my piston rings.

This thread is quieting down a bit, but I'm having the same problem. Only thing is, I need to keep my car. how much would it cost me to fix my piston rings? would it just be worth getting a new engine? or fixing it? :S

EDIT: Sorry if it seems like im thread jacking! It's not my intention!
