#284120 all my buddies get like 550 to the tank on their civics no mods except the usual ( cold air intake, fart can , coilovers/lowering springs.) and thats them beating their cars and i get about 400 to 450 if i push it and thats if i drive like a granny lol there was a gas leak and that was fixed but still no change still eating up gass ..i change spark plugs but did nothing.. what might it be guys ?

#284142 First of all, 550 on a tank, while beating the shit out of it might be a little exaggerated, but it could be timing also. Just a guess though.

#284146 My stock crx got about 400-440 per tank 10.3gal iirc your numbers are an exaggeration also cold air intake or "warm air" in 95% of the cars I've seen. Actually cuts your mpg not increasing it. Same goes for to large a diameter exhaust. No back pressure and you'll get passed by a smart car.

My .02¢

Change fuel filter $10-15
Change plugs and wires If they are old about $35-50 for some ngk's
check your oil level as well as coolant (obvious) but most missed
Ebay intake back to stock airbox (sorry you'll lose your swoosh sound during shifts)
Check your timing you didn't post your trim or motor but expect about 320-380 in a 92-95 hatch with a d15

#285401 Its possible to 500 from a tank.. you'll be around 42ish MPG.. take a gas can and fill it up then fill ur car up, reset your trip odometer and drive till I run outta gas.. then divided ur miles driven by the size of ur tank.. I got around 490-500 in old Ek(d16y8).. but this was in Florida gas has different octane in different states.. and elevation play a roll.. there's a lot more then just ur motor

Poor alignment, worn wheel bearings, even low tire pressure can all hurt fuel economy.

#285666 May need thermostat and gasket with coolant temp sensor just cuz thr gauge says your at half doesnt mean u are which could cause you tlo stay in open loop and run rich constantly

By tegpower18
#285731 I get just over 300 with my 12 gal tank right now which isnt very good I was getting 350 but I plan on replacing my thermostat and coolant temp sensor and I already replaced my 02 sensor and removed my bike rack
