ok i have a z6 with 90k on it, i drive it to work everyday and one day i go to pull out and as soon as i hit the throttle i hear a verrrry strange grinding noise like metal on metal contact i checked under the hood and when the car idles it sounds healthy but right when i give it gas the noise comes back it sounds like the noise is coming directly over cylinder number one, can any one give me an idea what it might be??? i hope it isnt a spun bearinnng

A worn or spun bearing will make a loud knocking sound. Pull the timing cover off ( driver's side) around the water pump, timing belt tensioner and see if you can hear the noise better. Maybe it is one of those.
