Can some one give me some in depth info on a minime conversion please, i have a D15B7 and want to put a JDM D15B VTEC head on it, i always wanted to do something like this myself, just to say i can and i did it myself, so please help :D

Also some info on what internals to change to produce a safe high reving motor?

What is involved and what parts are needed to supercharge the minime?

Some nice walk through's would be cool

Thanks in advance

ps. this is for my daily driver car, my track car is nearly finished with a k20, i just want to do something with what i have with this one before people start saying do a b16 conversion like in other posts, my k20 is way better than a little b16, i swapped out the b16 for the k20, so please only d15 info please and no b16 spamming

thanks again :D

here's how I did the swap, except i used a y8 head & intake manifold

Since the D15 vtec is OBD1, your swap will be a little easier

A mini-me still uses the D15b7 bottom end with pencil rods, so I would not supercharge it if you want it to ast long. There is not much aftermarket for the D15b7, if you were to build a strong sohc bottom end, best to use the d16a6 or d16z6. And by the time you're done building the block, you will have spent a lot of $$$$.

For a daily driver, I'd slap the head & intake manifold on and call it a day. Then keep dumping the $$$ into your track car :thumb:

You already have multipoint so that saves a lot of work,

You need:

the head(duh)
A new timing belt with a cam gear
You need to chip the ECU when it runs
A new distributur(for the D15b head)

You need to remove the oil jet

get the P28 ecu. It will be easier because you will not have to relocate the IAT sensor, and there will not ne the leftover vacuum lines to block off.

As for the distributor, Unless the D15b uses the same one as the D16z6, then your stock one will work. I don't know which one it uses though.

Also, the D16z6 head on a D15b7 block will leave your timing off by 1/2 a tooth. The cure is to use a cam gear drom a 96-00 D16y7 or D16y8.
I'm not sure if the D15b head will also make your timing off by 1/2 a tooth.

You should get some ARP head studs while you're at it, they only cost a little more than the 92-95 oem headbolts from the dealership, and you can re-use them unlike the oem stretch bolts.

probably will have the same issue since the D15b & z6 heads are pretty much the same, but then again maybe they put a different cam gear on the jdm d15b heads since they were meant for 1.5l blocks with the shorter stroke than the 1.6l blocks
