ok, so i know its not an eg.. but still

problem

1997 honda civic coupe

d16y8 manual tranny

60 psi throughout cylinders (even)
getting spark
getting fuel
timing is set perfectly.

what we did
customer came in with a car that overheats.

fully rebuilt machined head
new valve stem seals
new valves
polished cam

will not start, wont even try, just sits there and spins freely

60 psi is terribly low compression. I'd see why that is happening (rings?)

If you squirt a little oil in the cyl through the spark plug hole before doing another compression test and the new #'s are higher, then rings are bad.

Right, but the car ran Strong before considering the bent valve and bad water pump. Oil spiked it but went right back down. Its igniting, but it's as if something is sealing the head closed
