Best luck with that D series is just save for the turbo,
N/A d series =

unless you just dump INSANE money.. youl never be happy with the results.
Theres a shitload of cheap turbo kits out there for D series, We have alot of turbo build threads, I like the set up that Low-TEC DERBO has, You should definetly talk to him
*edit* Also is that the VTEC E

??? I saw a coupe yesturday that was sitting at a muffler shop, it had the VTEC E w/ a jackson super charger, it was all riced out

if you have the JDM D15B Vtec then putting a new head on it will do nothing, more then likely it will decrease performance

Isn't it possible to put a d16 head on there

like a z6 or y8

Danny I'm guessing you have a d15b7 for a little more hp for cheap you can throw on a short ram intake (I recommend the AEM) or throw on a set of headers, or a full exhaust. those are all things you could buy for a decent price and add a little Hp and be able to throw on any other d-series motor

best bang for the buck would be a mini-me or even better would be turbo if you have the $$. you'll save if you can piece a kit together yourself vs buying a kit like greddy. Nitrous is cheap but you gotta fill the bottle and can go BOOM if you're not careful.
if your car is automatic (I think yours is right?) swapping to a manual will shave a second off your 1/4 mi, even better if you can get the EX/Si tranny.
How much are you looking to spend on your car?
and weight reduction is always free

well i got a JDM d15b but i dont know if its vtech or not, i cant tell lol
i got the shit and installed it a few months back, just put a aem cold air intake and gonna put a new header system on it, gonna leave the og muffler on it, aint trying to make all that noise ha. ummm
i was thinking a new intake manifold too
im looking to get a si 5 speed tranny and convert the auto to manual
but yea, was wondering about a new head.

If it is a d15b its the best d series engine hands down - head swap will make it worse!
Im getting one aswell, long term plan is to turbo it

The D16Z6 and the JDM D15B head are basically the exact same

the are the exact same z6 and jdm d15b. a jdm d15b is pretty much a mini me but comes with a ex/si trans. i would jsut turbo it its the only way to reall ymake good numbers with a single cam. unless you make the stroker that was in honda-tuning

You know, I was in this situation like 8 months ago. I could of a SOHC ZC , Turbo.... But it would of been automatic..
I had 3,500 to spend.. and I had a SOHC ZC in the ej2 (automatic) It was either between B16A + manual conversion, OR SOHC Turbo...
IM SOOOO glad I did the manual conversion you can never go wrong with that...

Piece one toghter, DERBO knows all about that you can ask him..
Or if u can afford it, just buy a kit off Greddy, you cant go wrong with Greddy
