D15b consuming a lot of gas plz help

I just bought a 95 sedan with a non-vtec d15b i did the regular maintenance oil,cooland and soon doing the sparkplugs and fuel filter but a fuel tank only last me 3 days why is that never own a single cam before but i know they are good on gas

"It only lasts you 3 days" doesn't help us much. Can you give us a number? ie. Your MPG from a full tank and refill?

Last time i saw it it only had 80miles and it had quart left

huh.... :o i had fried piston rings, and bad valve guides and a "Red" airfilter that looked brown, and i still got upwards of 40 mpg on my d15b and it was the vtec....maybe your gas guage is takin a dump, i know the clusters in our cars a known to go bad, but damn 80 miles for 3/4 of a tank....thats like humvee status bro lol. well i hope you figure it out thats got to suck.

Ok ok i kinda figured it out first my friend making fun of my car been slow and heavy help because instead of shifting at 23k like i was doing before i now shift at 3k because it gives the car a little more power from start and it force the car less

Second my boy told me about the check engine light and it saying the o2 sensor is bad i got a new one let see if i put it on and maybe that will help too

I fill the tank yesterday let see if the 3k rmp works bybthe end of the tank

2,3k -3k sounds kinda low to be shifting at imo

imo i would shift around 3,500k -4,500k just to help the car from not having to work real hard pulling everything.

A proper o2 sensor will make a world of difference. I wouldn't even consider driving around with a bad o2, it's horrible for your motor to run that rich. It will ruin a cat over time, too.

also when running rich you are washing away the oil from the cylinder walls, which will tear up the walls quick
