So I have the D16z6 and I noticed that the compression ratio is lower than most 1.6l's.. I would like to bump it up abit.. As far I i can remember you can use the y8 headgasket.. Does anyone know how much this would gain me.. or if there is anyother headgaskets that could be used.

Put on a y8 head when you do the y8 headgasket and you'll notice a difference.

Ok cool.. now i was just oging through the mini diy thread.. and i noticed it saying it could yeild 10.5:1.. now is that with using the 1.5l block or would i get the same with the d16y8 block.. Seeing as the rest of the internals are basicaly the same, The exception possibly being the shape of the pistions.

Correct, that was with the d15b7 bottom end. If you use a D16y8 with a D16y8 head, you'd be back to the stock CR, which is 9.6:1
There's so many combos of D series... someone has made a compression calculator

The Y8 and Z6 head gasket are the same. They were once different, but they were consolidated.
On the internet, old information never dies.
