If I check my oil level soon after driving it is below the minimum level. However, if it sits for 30 minutes the level comes back up to the normal level. I have a 100% stock d15b8, is this normal for a d series?

Yeah, That's normal. Some oil takes time to drain down from the head & internals. That's why they say to check oil when the engine is cold. :thumb:

what teal said.

when the engine is running the oil pump is circulating the oil throughout the engine. it just doesnt all lay in the pan. when the engine is shut off the oil has to drain back down into the pan in order to get a proper oil level reading

Thanks guys. I was worried by how long it took. Was scared the return passages where clogged up or something.
