I just purchased a D16Z6 for my vx. The motor has a spun bearing, but I am getting that fixed now. I am doing a complete rebuild. The problem is that the motor is missing a few items. Things like the harmonic balancer, crank pulley, starter, and alternator. Will the parts off of the z1 fit, or do I need to buy parts for the z6? Thanks for the replies and sorry for the noob questions.

The harmonic balancer is integral to the crank pulley. You really should use a Z6 pulley to avoid long term damage, but the VX pulley will bolt on.

The starter and alternator are the same.

Keep your VX distributor as it is the same as the Z6, but different from all other Honda distributors.
