#46618 Well time has finally come to swap in a new engine :woot:

Ive bought a d15b from a jdm vti, its going to be here in a couple of weeks hopefully and ill be doing all the work myself - ive got a lot to learn though

Thing is, its been sat for quite a while - maybe even up to a year... so id like to make sure its all working well before it goes in the car

Id planned to change all the belts aswell as give it a good service, but is there anything else i should consider?

#46628 full service and all belts replaced should be fine.

might be worth flushing the engine aswell... then fitting magnetic drain bolts... then chaging the oil again after 1000 miles to make sure its 100% clean in there.

#50932 yea man i just bought a d15b last week, finally got it finished tonight, i just gave it a full service, new belts etc good time to change the clutch if needed to i might add and im gona drive it at normal driving conditions for a few hundred miles just to let everything takes its course after being sitting around a while, then change the oil again . then let the engine do what it does best , there a great engine and a lil something different than all the esi's over here ... good luck man :thumb:

#50951 Thanks guys i just got it on monday - ive got some magnetic sump plugs, new oil, filters, spark plugs and going to change a couple gaskets too. The belts are all okay other than the alternator belt so ill change that 8)

Will be changing the clutch and flywheels too - hopefully that should see it running well!!

#50953 double check the cap and rotor on your distributor. it might be a good idea to do a leakdown to double check how well the motor is standing.

If you are removing the flywheel, change your rear main seal!!
