- Fri Apr 25, 2008 5:52 am #52546 Problem: My check engine light comes on when Im driving and my car starts to sputter and wants to shut off, then I shut the car off and restart it and the check engine light goes off.I check the code and it reads as code 43 which is the Fuel Supply System defective or malfunctioning fuel supply system. Now what could be causing this probelm... could it be the fuel pump? Any help would be great thanks in advance. By the way the car is a 93 civic lx.

P.S. I have already changed the fuel filter

sounds like fuel pump.

Some say it could be the o2 sensor... anyone with this problem?
