OBD2 to OBD1 Sol running D15B2 on CX ecu?

I recently purchased a Del Sol, I noticed the car is using the P2E (D16Y7) ecu, but has a D15B2 motor swap in it!!! I'm going to convert to OBD1 My buddy says to run a 92-95 cx ECU in the car after the convert, and It should run better. What do you guys think? Will this work? Will the car ride better? Is there anything else to do in this situation being the car is obd2, and the motor is OBD0

the cx motor is the 8 valve 1.5L, 70 hp. I'm not sure how many valves the D15b2 has, but it is an OBD0 civic motor (92 hp, 89 ft lb tq)

I wouldn't run a cx ECU on the D15b2, but if you're wanting to run an OBD1 ecu, the dx/lx p06 ecu might be a closer match. That ecu was used with the D15b7 motor, 102 HP 98 ft lbs tq. Fuel curves will still not be perfect probably, so it may need to be chipped/tuned.

The p06 ecu is for multi-port fuel injection, so check to see if your D15b2 is multi port or dual port. Let us know which one (pics of the intake manifold will do) and we'll take it from there :thumb:

I suggest you look into swapping to an OBD1 head. Or just swap to a complete OBD1 motor.

An OBD1 ECU is going to have problems with an OBD0 engine. Biggest thing is going to be the injectors. Then there's the IACV.

so that motor is Dual Point Fuel Injection, on a car that was originally equipped for Multi port Fuel injection. That's like taking a step backward in technology.
