this argument gets brought up all the time
Last time I think that we agreed that they are close but each engine has its own benefits. Like the D15b's more aggressive cam vs the D16z6's extra displacement.
(moving this to D-series section)

D15b is the best haha
Its got 100cc less and makes the same power and more torque than the d16

I hav heard the Z6 block has a better rod to stroke ratio but yet the D15B's internals are stronger. So if you got the Z6 block with a D15B head, you would have the best of both worlds..

I was thinking that too ^^ that way you would get the awesomness of a d15b, plus the extra displacement of a d16

i had d15b and it is so strong all you need is an intake headers and full exhaust and youll be good , i pulled my brothers gsr in my hatch swapped with that motor ...so i say D15B!!!!!!!!

i think it should go like this
D15 head
D16Y8 Manifold
D16Z bottom block
D16A rods
P29 pistons
that way you get the head and an agressive cam bigger intake manifold z6 block with stronger D16a rods and high comp stock d series pistons from the old school teg

d16z6 owns... depends on where you live though... cant smog the d15b in california... so I wouldnt want to deal with that engine... plus the d16z6 has so much more potential....

You got it backwards. The D15B has the superior rod/stroke ratio.
As for internals you'll have to be more specific. There is a JDM OBD1 D15B and an OBD2.
There is really very little difference but I prefer JDM motors because they are low mileage and less likely to have been abused. Besides, the D15B is super revvy.
