have a 93 civic si coupe Automatic with (D16Z6) motor, P28 ecu.
I want to swap the engine with a D15b 1.5l vtech. My question is can
I use the same P28 ecu or do I need a different ecu for this swap. Also is this a straight through swap or are there any problems or difficulties that I should know about before attempting this swap. This would be my first swap and hopefully many more to come.

thanks all.

Well like said in the other post auto or manual? are you going to convert?

If you are keeping it stock the p28 should be find though you probaly will need the 1.5's torque converter and clutch plate(I could be wrong since i dont think in manual cars the 1.5's and the 1.6's have the same flywheel so may be different on autos as well. but besides that a d to d swap is fairly straightforward so there shouldnt be any problems

And if i was you and i was having the engine and trans out id do a 5spd swap best performance upgrade you can do lol (performance as in better and cooler to have)

The swap is also going to be AUTOMATIC, Can I use the same Tranny
that is in the D16Z6 or do I need to have one that fits the D15B. I am
rebuilding this car (93 Civic SI Coupe Auto Milano Red) to stock, as a every day driver and as a winter car. I also have a 93 SI Hatch Back
5 Speed as a summer car. I will try to post some pics soon. Thanks for
all the help, much appriciated.

You will want to use the intake manifold and the o2 sensor from the Z6 if you are using the P28

Will a Z6 intake manifold bolt straight on to a 15B. What about for the
Automatic Transmission, can I use the one from the Z6? do I need additional parts if I am using the Same AUTO transmission from the Z6.

everything should bolt on and work just fine. You will want the intake manifold becuase its and automatic unit.

After doing futher research, I have hear alot of good things about
this motor D15B (JDM). I am going to definitely going to use this
Motor as a swap for my existing D16Z6. The D15B is very cheap in
Toronto. Thanks for your help Guys :)

well not to be an ass but a little research first and you'd find all your answers. i mean they're basically handed straight to you instead of ask ask ask. just my two cents

heres an idea keep your d16 block build it up new pistons rings etc...
once the block is complete switch that block for the d15b block...
if your wondering why is cuz they make more parts for the d16z6 block,
and for the head they are the same just different cams so you can build your head up as well using after market d16 parts like from skunk2
well thats what i did at least.....
