#70094 ok here is the story on my engine mybe it will help with the solution. it is a D16y7 and it came out of my old 96 civic DX hatch with no problems and 150,000 mi. then i traded the hatch for m 94 eg coupe; thats when i started having problems. they did the swap and converted it to OBD1 and added an exhaust and headers. they also added a d15 intake manifold. now when i start it everytime it bounces between 1000 and 2000 rpm then when it comes up to temp it jumps from 1000 to 1500rpm. it will also do that while its in gear and im not giving it gas resulting in a rough ride :x . . now when i am driving i also at about 3000rmp at full throtle i hear a wistle ive been reading around and everyone says its a vacuum leak, but idk. now to the starting problem, if i turn it off and turn it back on in less the 10min it will start but then stall with the clutch in and then it will not start unless i give it gas the once its in gear it will be fine. please help me i think it might be a sticky throtal body but im not sure also i dont know if they replaced the intake maniflod gasket so i think that might explain the wistling when i get on it :?

#70200 well if you dont know if they replaced the gasket id do that 1st its pretty simple and while your at it throw on a z6 or y8 intake since they are true d16 motors

Now to your idle problem i know that you may have the problem i had where you need to bleed your coolant it may have air in there....this is something i had to deal with quite a bit with other peoples cars. another thing is to check your vaccum tube behind the intake manifold on the fire wall since I know sometimes things pop off of there like the bottom peice which would account for a high idle....But definately try to bleed your coolant very easy job to do and often overlooked

#70205 uncork the radiator cap reach down towards the lower hose and just keep pumping you may need to add coolant once ever so seconds since you are pumping the coolant into the engine.

And no thats not a dumb question i actually had no idea a year ago that you could actually do something like that.
