well really what you would eventually be doing is making a mini me of coarse you already knew that with the D15 with the Z6 head on her, now those engines tend to make good numbers but its not just because you put a different head on top well actually sorta is you will be getting a decent high compression motor. that people rarely turbo due to this.

Now I dont truely know what taxes you guys pay but i know or have heard that you pay by the liter of the motor now if thats the case id do that. (mini me)

But if you feel up to it id suggest getting the whole Z6 swap since the mini me is ok with most transmitions the Z6 best shines when hooked up to a vtec trans either Y8 or Z6. this motor is pretty decent to run a turbo on with low boost on stock internals and make pretty ecent numbers without hurting the motor....now build the motor and you can make 175+ hp due to the amount of boost you can let on to it however theres some other things you must do to obtain that kinda power....

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=554053 that will help ya with the mini me the Z6 power you can find almost anywhere just search.....

But if i where you and could only get a head and the rest of the mini-me swap id do that for now. and save up for stuff....

The D16z6 bottom end is better than the D15b7 in every way. Go with the D16z6. thicker oem rods, slightly larger displacement, and I think they have larger crank journals along with larger main bearings. Plus better aftermarket support when you want to beef up your bottom end :thumb:

ya see ive been told the mini me its quicker than the whole D16z6 but whooo knows what to believe these dayz eh, but i can get the whole engine plus wiring loom and ecu for 200quid.

And if the d16z6 is better than the mini-me why do people do it if theve got the whole engine anyways seems pointless if the d16z6 is well better and quicker ?

people do the mini me most likley but not always the case because its only removing the head. and doing some wireing instead of removing the engine. its a faster way of doing things i guess

but to tell you the truth if you can get that stuff for 200quid i do that since that is a pretty decent price. and you are getting everything you need for the swap. except a nice z6 or y8 or d15b vtec trans? but anyways if i had the chance to do that rather than do what im doing nw and gathering up a motor. I would buy it.

If you have the money to do the mini me the proper way, that would probably be better. The proper way being getting the head milled and the block hot tanked, and all that other stuff to be 100% positive that there are no gaps between the head and block. Also, the mini me would yield a higher compression (or so I have heard). But if you don't have the cash to do all of this then I would just go with the z6.

For the which is faster question. Ive raced many many mini me swaps with my z6 and my y8. I beat most of them that were not tuned and more modded then i was. I was running just I/H/E on my hatch. They werent a match at all.

x2
With I/H/E on my D16z6. No Mini-me could touch me. Even in Striped out CRX's vs my fully loaded EX Coupe.

Almost all Mini me's have less Displacement, a Taller Geared Transmission, and Lower Compression. Most of the Time they are not as reliable as a un-opened z6 or y8 either.

If you can, I would highly recommend getting a Full D16z6 or D16y8 over a Mini-me.

A mini me will have higher compression than a sohc vtec. Thats really they only perk to it that I can see. If you want a 1.5 vtec more get a jdm D15b. It at leasst has a nice aggresive cam.

doesnt the d15 have stronger internals?... but the d16 has a higher displacement.

not the D15b7 (non vtec) that he is talking about. The JDM D15B is a good motor though.

tbh it would probly be simply at my workplace to just rip the engine and wiring out and shuv a new one in so full z6 it is then! :thumb:
